Diplomats meet with Arctic Sunrise New Zealanders

'Two Greenpeace activists were arrested on Thursday (NZT) after trying to board an oil platform, owned by energy giant Gazprom, to protest against planned drilling on the Arctic shelf.

'About 30 other people were later arrested on board their ship, the Arctic Sunrise, when it was seized by the Murmansk Department of Coast Control on Friday (NZT).

'Two unnamed New Zealanders were among those arrested.

'New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade say they've been advised the Kiwi protesters are well and have access to basic supplies.

'On Monday, Greenpeace sent an ice sculpture saying "Free the Arctic 30" to the Russian embassy in Wellington as part of a protest against the detention of its activists.'
