Alameda Patch 'In the vacant lot on the corner of Park Street and Eagle Avenue, pirate trainer James Douglas paused for a moment, foam cutlass in hand, as a passing motorist yelled the universal pirate call: "AAARRR!"' By Jan Greene
'Douglas laughed and went back to the task at hand: teaching his class of budding buccaneers.
'On a recent Saturday, Douglas's Pirate School Adventure had seven students. Among them, Alamedans Erik and Elaine Radock, who were taking the class with friends visiting from Seattle. At first the Radocks had thought of spending the morning in San Francisco's Japanese Tea Garden. "But," explained Erik with a grin. "Pirate School seemed like a much better option."'
