"NewsChannel 3 spoke with Bob Rigney, an attorney representing one of the accused pirates"

WTKR-TV "Norfolk's federal court might once again host a piracy trial."

'Justice officials say they have not decided exactly where they will move the fifteen accused Somali pirates now aboard the USS Enterprise, but concede Norfolk is a logical choice.

'Prosecutors here were the first in almost 200 years to take a piracy case to a jury, winning a conviction against a handful of Somalis who attacked the USS Nicholas. A second set of pirates, accused of attacking the USS Ashland, is awaiting trial.

'In those cases, though, Norfolk claimed jurisdiction because the ships are ported in Norfolk. And even though three of the four ships involved in the recent pirate case are also from Norfolk, they were not the ships attacked.'
